The Orlando Chapter of National Association for Catering and Events (NACE) held a London theme gala to celebrate leadership and excellence in the hospitality industry, and to raise and distribute funds for student scholarship and non-profit organizations in the tourism industry. The event had many prominent industry leaders like General Manager of LEGOLAND Adrian Jones, CEO of Kessler Collection Hotels Richard Kessler, and CEO of Florida Citrus Sports Steve Hogan. Additionally, the event held a silent auction, a distinguished reception, a dinner, and an after party. This event was very elegant, entertaining, and remarkable.
To set the mood for guests before entering the ballroom, we featured both our stiletto shoe chairs and London phone booth at the top of the escalators. Our Stiletto Shoe Chairs are huge plush chairs replicated to resemble a stiletto, with upholstered finishes. And our London phone booth is a traditional 9’high x 3’wide x 3’ deep English phone booth. It became a great photo op to start the night off!
For the silent auction area, we provided our most impressive notable London pieces, The Tower Bridge of London, Guitar Mania Cocktail tables, and a Kiosk plastered with Beatles posters. The Tower Bridge is a replicated piece of the London’s renowned landmark and bears the Queens coat of Arms, with full dimensions of 20’L X10’H. This piece was used behind registration, and proved to be the focal point of the room, due to its extraordinary and massive detailing.
At the other end of the foyer, the theme was “British, Beef, Beer, & Beatles” ! In this area we provided our barrel bars that were used for serving the pub inspired beer that was served in over-sized glass beer mugs. In this area we also provided our barrel buffets that were used for the carvings of the herb rubbed whole angus beef that was being cooked on wood burning open flame. This was the perfect England pub-inspired look!
The ballroom was decked out in London rock decor featuring our infamous 12’h guitar enhancements that were placed along the perimeter of the room. The tables linens were designed to create the British flag, tying in the London Rock look.
As the main focal point of the room Max King designed a British guitar displayed in crisscross ‘X’ on the stage. Utilizing our 12’h guitars we created a British flag graphic to be placed on top of the guitar to add to the London Rock theme. We also used our guitar neck podium for the announcements made by the designated speakers. The stage really enhanced the look of the room and brought everything together.
To end the night with a bang, there was a glow after party that featured our notorious satellite dance cages, glow hi-boy pedestals, and our mirrored dessert wall! The Guitar Necks were used as an entry to the party, while the dance cages were displayed on each side of the dance floor for that extra touch. Additionally, the glow pedestals were placed randomly throughout the room for an illuminated ambiance.
This event was full of entertainment and prominence, and it was all for a great cause! MKE was happy to help sponsor this event, and hope everyone felt like they traveled to London.
